The Chord SPM 1050 MkII is a substantial stereo power amplifier from Chord Electronics, combining high power output with the speed, transparency and precision for which Chord’s power amplifiers are renowned.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the SPM 1050 MkII employs a sophisticated Class AB sliding-bias output stage, with Class A drive circuitry. This design allows the amplifier to deliver excellent low-level linearity while providing considerable power when required.
Rated at 200W per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 300W per channel into 4 ohms, the SPM 1050 MkII is capable of driving a wide range of demanding loudspeakers. Its high-current output stage, substantial power supply and low output impedance provide excellent control and stability.
The MkII features Chord’s proprietary high-frequency switch-mode power supply and fully balanced amplifier circuitry, together with both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs.
